Alps-olutely No Turning Back!

We are so excited to celebrate with you in France!Being from two different countries, meeting in a third, and somehow collecting friends all over the world means this weekend feels extra special. Having everyone together in one place is something we don’t take for granted. Three whole days with our favorite people? We feel unbelievably lucky. Thank you for showing up, traveling far and wide, and being part of our story. We can’t wait to celebrate, laugh, and soak it all in together ❤️

Staying Together at L’Alpaga!

When we first started dreaming and planning our wedding, one thing became very clear. We wanted to create something that felt less like a single moment or day and more like a shared experience, a full weekend where we could all be together in one place. That is why we have chosen to privatize <a href="https://www.beaumier.com/en/properties/hotel-alpaga/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">L’Alpaga</a> for the weekend, allowing us to stay, eat, relax, and celebrate side by side with the people we love most. The hotel includes a mix of rooms, suites, and chalets, and we will be in touch closer to the date with your specific room details once final numbers are confirmed (we will handle all the bookings, don't worry!). If you have any accessibility or mobility needs, please let us know so we can plan thoughtfully with the hotel. And yes… pack your swimsuit, because the spa, pools, and hot tubs are very much part of the plan! So many of you are traveling from far away to be with us, and we know that staying at L'Alpaga — a truly special, higher-end hotel — is a meaningful financial commitment. We're covering a significant portion of the accommodation costs so that everyone can stay together on the property, and we'd be so grateful for a little help making that possible. In place of traditional wedding gifts (we truly cannot get a KitchenAid mixer back to Rwanda - and for those unfamiliar, just know it's a very heavy appliance that Americans are apparently obsessed with!), the greatest thing you could give us is helping make this shared weekend happen. Guests are warmly welcome to contribute whatever feels right for them. For reference, accommodation in Megève during this time typically runs around $500 USD per night — but please know that contributions of any amount, or none at all, are genuinely appreciated. Some will give more, some less, and some not at all. What matters most to us is that the people we love are there to celebrate with us. Closer to the wedding, we’ll share more details about the easiest ways to contribute — we’re still working out the logistics to make this as smooth as possible for everyone. Most importantly, we want to be very clear that we do not want cost to be a barrier for anyone. Your presence means more to us than anything, and we would love for everyone to come stay with us at L’Alpaga regardless of ability to contribute. Accommodation & Venue 

Getting to L’Alpaga, Megève

We know many of you will be traveling internationally, so we wanted to make getting to Megève feel as simple and stress-free as possible. While it’s tucked into the mountains, Megève is well connected and easy to reach.

Flying in

We recommend flying into either Geneva or Lyon, but of course, feel free to make any European adventure you want! Geneva Airport (GVA) – Recommended- Approx. 1 hour by car to Megève- Most direct and straightforward option Lyon Airport (LYS)-Approx. 2.5–3 hours by car-A good alternative if flights to Geneva are limited or expensive From both airports, you can continue by rental car, train + taxi, or shuttle + taxi.

Rental Cars (Most Flexible Option)

Renting a car is one of the easiest and most flexible ways to get to Megève, but in no way necessary! -Rental cars are available directly at both Geneva and Lyon airports-The drive from Geneva to Megève is about 1 hour and very scenic-Google Maps and Waze work well in the region-Parking is available at L’Alpaga-Make sure that your rental car in Geneva comes with a "vignette" sticker for driving on the Swiss highway. No vignette = approx. $300 fine.

Train + Taxi

Train Journey Breakdown: Step 1: Arrive at Geneva International Airport (GVA) and take the train from Geneva Airport train station (GVA) to Geneva Cornavin Station:-Take a short 7-minute train ride from the airport station (Genève Aéroport) to the main city station, Geneva Cornavin.-After landing and collecting your luggage, follow signs for “Trains / Gare CFF”-You do not need to leave the airport to reach the train station Step 2: Geneva Cornavin to Sallanches-Combloux-Megève:-From Cornavin, catch a TER or TGV train towards Sallanches-Combloux-Megève, the main station for the area.-Depending on timing, you might need to transfer trains in Annemasse.-Journey will take approximately 1 hours 1/2-Train rides typically cost between €13-20 per person Step 3:Sallanches to Megève: From Sallanches station, you'll need a short bus or taxi ride (about 12 km) to reach L'Alpaga/Megève (30 minutes)-Local taxis seem to be between between €25 and €35 per ride. -Website to look at train schedules/timings and to book<a href="https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/home/search/od" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/home/search/od</a>

If you’re not quite ready for the weekend to end, you’re warmly welcome to extend your trip and join us for a few more days of exploring the region. We’re planning to spend some extra time in the mountains with hiking and a few more little adventures along the way. We’ll share more details as the date gets closer, but if this sounds fun and you’d like early info, feel free to reach out to Chris or Aly. And truly, there is absolutely no pressure to continue on with us. We know everyone has different schedules and travel plans. This is simply an open invitation for anyone who’d like a little bonus adventure!
